What’s The Right Marketing Call To Action For Your Coaching Website?

One of the most important concepts in internet marketing for coaches is having an effective marketing call to action on your website. But what exactly is this?

In the beginning, you created your website to get clients. Everyone was doing it and you were told you needed to do it - so you did. The problem is, most of the advice you received about websites treats your page as a gallery of information rather than an interactive piece of property on the Internet.

Why does my website need to be interactive?

Because if your reader comes across your site and doesn’t get what they immediately need, chances are they won’t be back again. That means if they don’t decide to book a free consultation in the (maybe) 3 minutes that they’re on your site, they’re never going to do it. Talk about lost opportunities!

But if you choose the right marketing call to action, you have the chance to draw these readers into your world even if they don’t become clients immediately.

What’s the right call to action for me?

Well, it’s hard to tell actually. It all depends on who your targeting. Once you figure out who, you need to figure out what way they like to take in information. Here are some examples though:

1. A Free Teleseminar Recording

If you’re working with busy professionals, they may not have the time to sit down at their screen and read for long. But if you have an offering for a free teleseminar recording (which you exchange for their email address) that they can listen to on their way to work, you have provided them with the right content that fits into their lifestyle.

Plus, you drew them into your community so that a reader who may have been around for 3 minutes will now be around as long as you provide them with great content.

2. Free Tools and Systems

Have you created a coaching tool that works well for your clients every time you use it? Is it something that increases productivity, reduces blocks to abundance, or helps them get clear on their ideal relationship? Congratulations - this is something that you can exchange for an email address. Tools like these make for a great marketing call to action because when you ask them for that email address, they’re getting something valuable in return.

Plus, if you brand that tool with your contact information, you’ll make a lot more than a 3 minute contact.

3. Invitation To A Weekly Webinar

Webinars are one of the hottest trends of 2009 - and they’re not going anywhere. If you can host just one of these a week where you present valuable useable information, you’re offering something that has a higher perceived value than just an email newsletter. Unfortunately, people rarely sign up for newsletters anymore. But if they see something like a webinar, it’s new enough to them that they’ll be willing to exchange their email address for that information.

When putting together a marketing call to action, remember that your potential clients aren’t looking for your coaching services. Your services are just a feature. But what they get out of it is the benefit. You need to design your call to action to be exactly the same. No matter what you decide to give away, make sure it solves a problem or makes your potential client’s life better in some way.

What are some other offers that make for a great marketing call to action? Let me know what you think - I’d love to hear your comments below.
